LG is announcing its own Frame-style TV at CES

In the last few years, the art TV category, previously dominated by Samsung’s The Frame, has seen significant growth. New contenders like TCL and Hisense have stepped in. Now, LG has announced its own entry: the LG Gallery TV. This new model makes use of the Gallery+ service, which LG launched earlier this year. Gallery+ provides access to thousands of visuals, ranging from classic artwork and cinematic images to gaming scenes. Like Samsung’s Art Store, Gallery+ features both a limited free version and a premium subscription for access to its full library.

Differences from LG’s G Series OLED TVs

It’s important not to confuse the new Gallery TV with LG’s G Series OLED models, such as the LG G5. While the G Series was once called the Gallery Series, these are different product lines. The Gallery TV focuses on the art-display experience through the Gallery+ platform, whereas the G5 series aims for high-end home entertainment with OLED technology. This makes the new Gallery TV ideal for users who want technology that blends into their home decor. Furthermore, transition between services and content is smooth, offering both visual appeal and user-friendly navigation.

Subscription-Based Features and Expansion of Art TV Market

The push towards subscription-based art services isn’t new, but LG’s entry with Gallery+ gives users even more options. If you’re considering an art TV, LG’s model brings a fresh alternative to the market – one that may fit a range of budgets and aesthetic preferences. With more brands entering this space, the art TV market becomes increasingly competitive. As a result, customers can now choose from a wider variety of features, price points, and designs, ensuring there’s an art TV for almost every need.
