ACTI and DPPI Join Forces to Protect Innovation and Industrial Property in Albania

The Albanian Council for Technology and Innovation (ACTI) has signed an important cooperation agreement with the General Directorate of Industrial Property (DPPI). This partnership marks a strategic step toward strengthening Albania’s innovation and technology ecosystem, with a strong focus on protecting industrial property and increasing the value of local innovation.
Through this agreement, ACTI and DPPI will work together to support companies and innovators by:
- Providing technical and legal advisory services for ACTI member companies.
- Organizing training sessions on intellectual property protection and innovation commercialization.
- Developing joint activities such as workshops and roundtables focused on patents, trademarks, and technological solutions.
- Co-applying for European projects through programs such as Digital Europe Programme, Horizon Europe, and COSME.
Protecting intellectual property is a key pillar for the growth of startups and technology-driven businesses, and an essential factor in attracting sustainable investment. Speaking about the partnership, Ermal Beqiri, Chair of the ACTI Council, said:
“We often talk about Albania’s great potential, but this agreement is a concrete example of how that potential can be turned into real opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs.”
This collaboration lays the groundwork for a safer, more innovative, and more competitive market, helping align Albania more closely with European and global standards while creating a supportive environment for innovation to thrive.
