ACTI at Technology Industry Day 2025 | Berat

For one day, the city of Berat became a hub of ideas and open discussion on the future of technology and Albania’s European integration. Technology and Innovation Industry Day, part of the national Albania 2030 platform, brought together representatives from government, business, academia, and the Albanian diaspora to explore how technology can drive the country forward.
Albanian Council for Technology and Innovation (ACTI) played a central role in this dialogue. During the roundtable on Human Capital and Skills Adaptation, Ermal Beqiri, Chair of the ACTI Council, delivered a clear message: Albania has the tools and potential to move ahead, but stronger coordination, standardization, and collaboration among all stakeholders are essential.
The discussion focused on both the challenges and opportunities of Albania’s digital future, highlighting six concrete actions that should guide the next steps:
- Strengthening the Academia–Business–Government triangle as the backbone of a connected ecosystem.
- Introducing standardization and certification for lecturers and curricula, making quality a key competitive advantage.
- Positioning Durana Tech Park as the space where Albania’s first unicorns can emerge.
- Linking scholarships to performance and results to ensure accountability and excellence.
- Creating open innovation laboratories where companies and researchers grow together.
- Developing a new cooperation framework with AKSHI to ensure that every project and investment delivers real impact.
Speaking at the event, Ermal Beqiri noted: “The government has shown willingness to listen. Now it is up to us. Over the next four months, we must start delivering concrete results and make the most of this opportunity to bring capacities together and use them in the most effective way possible.”
The meeting reinforced a shared understanding that technology is not just another economic sector, but a strategic pillar of Albania’s European integration. The next step is clear: align capacities, deliver measurable outcomes, and demonstrate that ACTI represents a united community of companies committed to moving Albania forward through innovation.
